This site is currently under maintenance. Earlier today, we were told by our California Data Center, CalPop.com, that they were terminating our services due to "delequent account". The person that was financially responsible for this task was Mr. Richard Hupp whom passed away in 2008. During this time Mrs. Hupp said she would take care of the bill for 4 years. During this time, we have had un-interupted service. I asked CalPop that if anything billing wise were to happen with the account to please let me know so I could take care of it.
Today they said that the bill hadn't been paid in 2 years, the account was about $3,000 past due, and that I (the System Admin) had been added to the account without my knowledge during that time that Richard Hupp died. I asked, how they could put such a responsiblility on someone without even knowing their address, which was a trick question to get the fact of them having my address or not (to notify me of this event) and they read my address right out to me. That was then all of the information I needed to draw the conclusion that they had intentionally never contacted me, invoiced me, sent an email, to let me know that this account had been past due for 2 years.
Instead, when I call, I am told by the guy that runs CalPop, "If you pay the full $3,000.00 (about) before January 20th, we will be happy to give you back all of your data, if not we'll destroy it". Is it just me, or does this sound like a hostage/ransom situation?
At any rate, we have moved hosting providers to a host that has assured that I will recieve both a hard-copy of my bill and a soft-copy. In the mean time they have given me advice on routes and legal angles I can take in order to get our data back from CalPop, and maybe come out as data-center owners in the process.
I do sincerely appologize for everyones inconvienance right now and only ask that you bare with me in this most unforseen event.
If you wish to get in touch with us please send an e-mail to Lalo/Darth or Breea. We will work on resolving this as soon as we can.
